"About Me" – in the exact words of Tyler

Anyone can write their own “about me” page, right? No problem! But what would your loved one (husband, boyfriend, mother, brother or sister) have to say about you? I know when I was writing my about me section for this blog and my website I tried to highlight the important stuff, the “good stuff” about me, as well as a few fun facts, nothing embarrassing. Then I thought, I bet if Tyler was writing my “about me”, it would be completely different. And I was right.

There not a lot that I couldn’t tell you about Tyler. In fact, I could easily write a similar one of these posts about him. But, what I didn’t know is just how witty he could be when he wrote. Don’t get me wrong, I get his wit and sarcasm on a daily basis at home. Most times, I have to tell him how not funny he is.

So when I asked him to write this “about me” for my blog, I truly thought that he was going to get something along the lines of: her favorite color is (lately teal), she loves photography, I love her smile.

The last thing I expected was to literally L-O-L when I read what he had written. And I’m talking cracking up. On multiple occasions. I looked like a complete idiot staring at my phone with tears in my eyes from laughter. It may not be very funny to the outsider, but because these are so dead on and something I, myself, would have never thought to write about (mainly because who writes a bunch of embarrassing stuff about themselves), it just put the biggest smile on my face.

So, as promised — in the exact words of Tyler, here is his “about Ashley”:

1.) Ashley must sleep with her inhaler. By sleep with her inhaler, I mean she has her arms wrapped around it. She panics if its not touching her.

2.) She is addicted to sweet tea. Not just any sweet tea, McDonald’s sweet tea. If this is not available, gold peak sweet tea will suffice.

3.) The minute Ashley gets home from work, she runs upstairs, strips her work clothes off, and throws on yoga pants and one of my shirts. I never have clean shirts for me.

4.) I must sleep with our ceiling fan on. Ashley always complains its too cold for the fan, but she lets me keep it on. In the middle of the night, she tells me to get away because she’s too hot. I’m confused.

5.) She once almost burned my moms house down while cooking perogies. Luckily, I was there supervising her cooking, as it was awful at the time.

6.) While I was holding her hair back as she vomited in to the toilet, Ashley shoved her finger down my throat as I spoke to force me to vomit. She wanted me to feel better. She also received a nasty nose bruise from the toilet seat.

7.) Ashley claims I’m a good singer when I try. I get yelled at when I sing “Jane Says” by Janes Addiction. Apparently I’m annoying.

8.) Ashley is allergic to our dog Locke, on top of her mound of other health problems. It forces her to live with itchy eyes, but she loves him and would never be able to give him up.

9.) During my mess of a senior week almost three hours away from home, I called Ashley early to come pick me up. Without hesitation, she drove 6 hours to get me and take me back home.

10.) She used to have this oddity where every time she bought a double hamburger at McDonald’s, she had to flip the top burger with the bottom burger. I quickly broke that ridiculous habit.

11.) Probably my biggest pet peeve is Ashley’s ability to turn every single piece of clothing she wears inside out. She tells me to leave it inside out when I fold her clothes, but that bothers me as well.

12.) I have been with Ashley for six years now. We have our faults and our differences, our arguments and disagreements, but I love every imperfection about her. I have been her number one supporter through life, and I too dream of the day when she will be able to quit her day job and work on her photography full time. After all, we will need someone home for the future babies to come!
