Imagine standing there with the love of your life exchanging vows, you look out to your friends and family expecting to see smiles and tears of joy but instead you see their faces hidden behind their phones, cameras and iPads and standing in he way of your professional photographer. That can kind of ruin the moment, am I right?!
So, how do you prevent this from happening? How can you ensure your guests will be present during the most important day of your life and that your professional photographer can capture the moments and emotions throughout the day without the distraction of cameras and phones? The answer … an “unplugged wedding.”
While an unplugged wedding isn’t going to be for every couple, and that is TOTALLY ok, part of my job as a photographer is to inform my couples about the benefits of an “unplugged wedding”.
So, what is an unplugged wedding is exactly what it says…UNPLUGGED. Your guests are “unplugged” from technology no phones, no cameras and no iPads.
So how do you let you guests know you are having an unplugged wedding? Keep in mind this is YOUR special day, and what you say goes. Don’t be afraid to tell your friends and family ahead of time to keep their camera and phones away, after all you have invested a lot of money into your wedding and you want to enjoy it! Here are some great ways we let your friends and families know to keep their phones and cameras in their pockets during the cememony…
Programs: You can included this information in your wedding program about your unplugged wedding.
Signs: You can place a sign up at the entrance of your ceremony!
