DIY Ring Box Tutorial

July 4, 2014

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your holiday.

Today I thought I’d share with you a project I was working on last night. A ring box for our ring bearer to carry down the aisle at our wedding! I’ve seen this on Pinterest so I figured I’d give it a go and I LOVE how it turned out. It’s not perfect, but I love it and it will be that much more special on our wedding day knowing that I made it!

The whole process was super simple! I got all my supplies at Michael’s craft store, expect for the hinges, I got those from the local hardware store. Here is what you’ll need:

  • A box OR you can make your own like I did. They didn’t have a box in the size that I wanted, so I got two halves, and then put them together!
  • hinges (if you are making yours like I did)
  • wood glue (for extra hold)
  • Interior wood stain
  • a paint brush
  • (not pictured) a rag
  • fine point white paint pen

be sure to let the stain dry over night. You don’t want it to be sticky when trying to write on it!

Two cute puppies watching you craft are a MUST 😉

I used the wood glue for extra security and then nailed in my hinges!

The only thing left to do is add a small divider in the middle of the box and some pretty tissue paper or some other sort of filler to sit the rings on!
